Curvy rear caliper pin.
 

Chewed mine up trying to get seized pin out, still usable but I managed to drill the hole for the pin all the way through.

May just repair it with some instant metal as I only need to cover the hole so the pin doesn't slide out.

What do you all think?

wouldn't do that.

you should have drilled a smaller hole than the pin from the back and used a punch to bash it out.

end of day its your bike and your life.

Tried that it was siezed absolutely solid, I had to then cut the pin flush and drill a new hole for the pin to sit in, only trouble is because of the whole I drilled to punch it through when I was drilling I accidently went all the way through.

you could if you have a drill bit the size drill another hole in the pin and use another R clip on the other end. or tap the hole and use a small bolt (i don't know if there is material there is to do that though)

Classic bike showed the use of instant metal, used it on a engine block, and I know mechs that have used it in harsh enviroment until a new parts could be ordered and built. I don't know a reason why you couldn't, but maybe bibio have an inside answer?

instant metal is good stuff and you could use it if all surfaces are indeed clean and free from grease. problem is it flows to well. i suppose if you created a bung to make sure that the instant metal could not flow into the recess for the pin then all should be fine.

personally if it were me i would look for a mechanical approach to the fix and would tap the ends then insert a suitable bolt (stub) so to gain access at a later date if needed. even a grub screw would do the job if it were threadlocked properly. the easiest would be to drill a small hole in the pin and insert an R clip on the other end.

Drill the other end of the pin so there's a clip at each end.

I've tapped the hole and fitted a short screw on a couple of calipers, there's plenty of material.
