Crashed My Pointy :'(

1 Attachment(s)
As the title says ive crashed my sv650 yesterday. long story short a taxi driver pulled out infront of me and i hit the side. he has accepted liability and was wondering what happens now? will i be able to buy the bike back or?
most of the damage is to the front and the wheel is pushed back does that mean its a write off? and will this affect my premiums?

any advice or guidance is appreciated as ive never had a accident before

heres a pic:

Are you ok?
A big plus for you is that he has accepted liability. All dealings will be done through the insurance companies now. Being written off will depend on the severity of the damage and the value of the bike. You wait to see if it is written off, and to what degree, and then ask how much it would be to buy back. You can them work out if the adjusted payout will cover the repairs.
It won't affect your premiums as 100% liability lies with the other party.
My advice is to keep a copy of all letters and calls, and some sort of injury diary. Even soft tissue injuries can take some time to heal. And don't accept a first offer.

im fine thanks just cut and bruised, been to the doctors and he just said i havent broken anything but the pain will worsen before it gets better. and oky ive rung my insurance up and told them and since then ive been bombarded with phone calls on hiring a new bike, claiming personal injury, repairing the bike etc. and do i have to get a engineer out myself to assess the bike or will one come automaically?
thanks again

The taxi firms insurance will sort out the report/inspection. They won't hurry though so be prepared to hassle them. And don't down play the injuries. My stiff shoulder turned into severe pain and took several months to clear up.
Good luck with it all.

Are you ok? Have you any injuries? Did the police attend the accident? Did you/police get names and details of any witnesses? Did he admit liability in writing/to the old bill or through a Soliciter?

The bike is yours. You can demand it be repaired, you can take the full insurance amount and wave goodbuy to the bike or buy the bike back at the price the "engineer" values it at and get the remainder as a cheque.

I recommend you make sure the taxi driver has admitted full responsibility through is insurance company to your insurance company.

Re: Crashed My Pointy :'(

as has been said, the insurance company will arrange for an assesment to take place where the bike is. I would say almost certainly the bike will be an insurance write off because they will replace rather than repair especially with the panels.

I would ask the question about buy back and see what figure they will give you. this will have to be done when coming to an agreement over price of settlement to you.

I would price up all the parts needed to repair the bike and add all the figures together then as soon as the insurance company give you a buy back price you can add these together and see if it viable to repair it or not, a lot of the times it can be cheaper to buy another bike that's not on the register than it would buying back and repairing.

Hope you heal up quick dude and tell the taxi driver to get his flippin eyes inspected!

Just read the other messages now. Sorry for repeating the same things. My third party claimed 100% liability at the scene. Then sent an email claiming 100% liability from her solicitor. Then withdrew liability claims and said the email was "Sent in error due to a bug in the system" and a lengthy year of bolloc*s proceeded.

Don't trust anyone, they're all c*nts
