Any open trackdays around the West Midlands?
Hi everyone, I'm looking to take my bike (SV) on a track somewhere local just for some fun. nothing competitive.
I dont know anything about the track scene, so do i need some sort of licence or formal introduction/training? Do i need any special equipment or can i honestly just turn up with a full tank, helmet, jacket, boots and gloves? And finally, where are the local tracks? (I'm located in Worcester or West Wales) and how much is it going to cost me? Thanks for any help guys, would be really appreciated. Regards, Ben. |

Mallory park is not far from you. Its a good first circuit to do as there's not much to remember and its still alot of fun, that was my first track. and yep, bike, one piece or zip together leathers, some jerry cans if theres no fuel station there and thats it. and as for confidence, you could ride a 50cc moped and still not be the slowest in the novice group |

I've just had a quick look and it seems you need: (Quote)
Must be holders of a current ACU competition licence. FIM & Non ACU licence holders by application. Have you had any problems with this before? how do i get a licence ? |
Re: Any open trackdays around the West Midlands?
you need to go through third party trackday companies such as NoLimits, their are others available just google. If you go directly through the track owners then yes you will need a track license as the open days they do are basically for teams to practice and set up their vehicles

Re: Any open trackdays around the West Midlands?
To do a track day you only need a full road license, not a 33bhp one at most tracks, your leathers must be one peice or zip together all the way round, not just a bit at the back, and you need an ACU standard lid, which is most half decent ones these days.
