corners a plenty
well i don't think i have ever encountered as many corners in 87 miles as i did on sunday. my wrists were agony after it but my lordy lord was it fun. its just a pity that the condition of the roads is the worst i have ever encountered. the part coming out of Girvan are a shocker and they are almost half circles and just keep going bend after bend.. yes i had fun :D

Re: corners a plenty
Shame about the road surfaces. Cause those roads are brilliant.
Lance you could try the dukes 5 times there and back ;-) |
Re: corners a plenty
it was nice to ride new roads. btw what the feck is all those AS cams between ayr and girvan... i duly paid no attention to them :-)

Re: corners a plenty
Newton Stewart - Girvan is one of my favourites. Always quiet. Varied with so many good bits.
Although you need to head east/ north east from Girvan as going north with all the cameras is pish as you know! |

Re: corners a plenty
the whole route on sunday was a cracker and took just under 7 hours with lots of stops and a detour as Lanark road to Carnwath was closed. http://goo.gl/maps/kciMJ

Re: corners a plenty
That is one of my favourite local rides.:D
I usually take the coast road down past Dunure and return home via the B743 through Mauchline. Runs like that make the cost of petrol seem cheap. The entire A77's crap in all respects these days but at least you can ignore the SPECS cameras on the bike. |
