Kicking the wrong people.

A quote I knicked from a facebook post. It's obviously meant for American readers, but the point, with which I find myself in agreement, stands.
Quote:

Why do I feel inclined to just delete and ban mean-spirited people who go on and on telling their supposedly personal experiences with food stamp abusers and welfare abusers with fancy iPhones and expensive cars?

It's not just the glee they seem to get from bashing the "poor". It is the fact that this same breed of mean-spirited jerks spend zero time bashing
those who are ripping us off the most: Rich corporations who take billions in corporate welfare each year. 87% of all welfare.

The disconnect is sick and twisted: Poor welfare mothers have no lobby, so let's have some good old fashioned Roman fun kicking around the
stereotype till that no-good welfare queen is spitting bloody teeth.

It turns my stomach and makes me want to cut these welfare-abuse storytellers off at the knees: I don't give a damn if any of their personal experiences are true or not. I just don't wanna hear it.

Most are too fracking lazy and lamebrain to learn who Goldman-Sachs is. No, that's the big deep screwing they're willing to take day in and day out and keep asking for more.

The most telling part of that whine.

Typical though - not interested in a balanced view, only wants to hear the bits that supports his/her prejudices.

Theres a small group of us that might agree with you,or dare I say,see your post as a welcome bit of balance against the usual party line, but best not to admit it in public.[-o<

I dont disagree that the bankers who dropped us in the mess need kicking, its just that the suggestion you should only be kicking one group is wrong.

Be more liberal and kick them both, theres leeches at both ends of the scale that are killing the host.

No, besides I believe you already have a neghbourly brat to do that for me.

You and your son is an example of where the welfare state should be operating. It's not leeching if you have a genuine reason for requiring aid.

Just as there are quite a few bankers who had nothing to do with the financial crash.

I must say I'm with Spank!

Not everyone in the finance industry is responsible for the current situation.

If you want to talk system abusers EX1:

My sister, 4 kids by 4 different blokes, never worked a day in her life, has a 4 bed house courtesy of the government, still has enough spare cash for holidays and new cars, I phones etc.

EX2:

Me, worked since leaving school, penniless up to my eyeballs in debt, drive an 11yr old car, riding a 15yr old bike can barely afford either, but apparently I earn too much for assistance from the state!

Now that is a fair system!

As Spank said there are leeches bleeding the host dry from both ends!
