Identify this shock.
 

looked at gixxer shocks, and most of those seem to be yellow, red or black.

Is this an sv1000 rear shock fitted to my sv?

its adjustable at the bottom with S and H, but has TEN punched into at as well

Does it have any rust? if so svthou if not could be a zx shock or zzr?

i'm guessing your bike is 06 onwards seeing as you have a black frame. Usually there is a sticker on the shock/res somewhere

Not a standard 650 shock though as its got the reservoir.

It seems quite a soft shock, thats why im thinking sv thou, although I havent checked the settings as yet.

If it is sv1000 then Im guessing they have a better fitting undertray as mines been cut as per normal shock swap.

According to this the sv thou shock bolts on with very little or no modification. This would lead me to believe that as your undertray etc has been chopped, it may not be an sv1000 shock. Also the thou shock has a 45 deg rez. Yours doesnt look like 45 degs but hard to tell from the pic? *edit, 'spose it could be 45 degs looking closer??? It's not 90 deg anyway...

will try and take some pics tomorrow, I`ll take the seat off.

Battery tray has been cut and modded to fit, its been pushed back about 10mm, which isnt a problem with the pyramid undertray. I wanted to refit a standard tray and snow plough today, but too much agro to faff about with the undertray, pushing it back means it fouls the rear mudguard/plough.

Been trying to find topics in the search to see if anyone who cut their batt box still uses the snow plough, but couldnt find anyone with a white rear shock fitted. :confused:

If someone has taken the time to swap the shock and mod the battery box they could have easily swapped the spring and ordered a white coated spring to match the old sv spring colour.

If it's a zx10r (06) shock they came with a light spring and that would explain the res angle they could have recovered the spring.

has anyone managed to keep their standard battery, undertray and snow plough with these reservoir shocks.

In answer to Elliots question, yeah its a tiny bit rusty.

I don't have the original snow plough but when I fitted my zx10r shock I was able to keep battery, undertray etc all unmodified.
Here's my zx shock (2006) before fitting. Does it look similar to yours apart from the spring colour?
