Crashed! Damn Ice!

We've had some pretty bad snow today which in some parts has turned into sheets of ice. I managed to get from Team Valley to Killingworth without a hitch, until I tried to stop for a pedestrian crossing. Was going slow to begin with but wasn't going to stop in time just using engine braking so I used my brakes, very gently but I was on the floor a split second later.

Some guy did stop to help which was nice, thanks for that, although wasn't needed but nice anyway. Only damage is to the engine bars so all is good there. It wasn't until after I stood up I realised that the whole road was just a block of ice.

Only damage to me is that my left wrist has started hurting and seems to be getting worse but thats it. I have a video of the crash, not very exciting but I'll post it up anyway as soon as its ready.

Stay safe out there

I nearly went out on mine today but thought better of it and got the bus. It's just not worth the damage to you or the bike, I hope you get that wrist checked out sharpish, there's too many little bones in there that can easily be broken. Bad luck mate.

Glad you're not in a bad way. Any off you can walk away from is a good one.
Pooped myself this morning as I spotted a massive patch of ice on a corner I was headed for and barely passed. Think I'll be on the tram if things don't warm up overnight.

Same boat, excerpts I only made it 100 feet. My gear lever is now a bolt. No wonder I came off, I couldn't stand up on the road it was that icy.

Thanks. This hasn't fazed me about bikes and my confidence hasn't taken a hit which is good. Still rode it home after that. Just a little annoyed it took 2 hours to travel ~15 miles just to come off right near home.

Video is up now. As you will see, the off is nothing special. Doesn't even look that bad and to be honest it wasn't. Just must have landed a little awkward on my wrist.

That is a lot worse than the ice I hit, did you get the guy to give you a lift up with the bike, looks like he did in the video. I had to, I tried on my own, is there some technique to doing it alone?

To be fair that road looks absolute sh1te. And at night too, recipe for disaster. Glad you've not come off too badly.

I'm not sure. The CB is really light anyway.
