One for the android buffs....

Right,

We all know how the appstore works... once you've bought an app on one device you can download it to another.

Question is, does google play work in the same way? I have some paid apps on a Samsung Galaxy II and I want the same apps on an android tablet. I'm logged into play with the same account, but the apps are showing the price? I've already purchased these so shouldn't I be able to use them on whatever device I want?

Yep. Exactly the same. Just sign in and download it again.

Try going to the play store on the Internet and see if both devices are listed under your account there. Play.Google.com

Also you can view you app history and that will show you all the apps you have installed on that account.

You actually pay for apps on Android? Good on you sir! Makes a change from all the "everything must be free or I'll pirate it" camp!

Generally there are two versions, a free cut down with a bit of advertising. Or a fully functional that costs a few pence-> a couple of quid.

The thing is, if software is affordable, there is little point in ripping it off.

That's what you'd think, but you'd be amazed at how many people won't pay for something that's 50p, because it's so ingrained in their psyche that small games/app should be free.

As above yep not sure on how many devices you can do it on though.
I've got my phone, a tablet and an Android TV dongle (Google 'MK808' ) which is hooked up to the TV with a HDMI cable, I use Droidmote to use the tablet or phone as a remote for it to use it basically as a silent PC or a 42" Android Tablet great for netflix and YouTube
;)

I use a 39.99 android phone as GPS HUD or navigation on the ccm, the best part is that I can track my miles and trips on my main Galaxy s3. It's fun to follow the map and see how fast you were going through familiar corners on different bikes, without paying twice for the apps.

Don't get me wrong I've got thing like the stickman games for the occasional boredom which I've got the free/advertised versions, but there are some things that I use a lot where the adverts annoy me and it's worth a few quid for an easier / hassle free use.

I'm now having a dilemma about which device to put Sky Go on aswell....

The old man pays for the sports package (which I'm too tight to do, because I don't really like football. Don't mind watching the cricket / speedway etc, but won't pay out when I won't watch 50% of whats on there). I now have 3 devices but 2 licenses... But don't know which to put it on.

- iPhone - works great for any sports during the day.... hook up to works wifi, phone beneath monitor.. watch away.

- laptop - getting a bit slow, fan full of carpet dust, but can use a HDMI output to hook up to TV

- 7" android tablet - no HDMI output, took big for beneath monitor, but new and doesn't have problems with overheating like laptop. Can I get a USB output that will link this to my TV even though it's not HD?

paying for apps is ok if your device supports in and google play lets you have it otherwise it's a minefield.
