Cheapo lever and clutch switch?

Hi all I've just brought some shorty levers from china, after fitting today I noticed that the lever no longer operates the clutch switch!

Is this common (supposed to be like this) or have I brought a cheap piece of s*+t?

Any help would be helpful thanks mark

Re: Clutch switch?

Some of the cheap levers have a cutout on the underside of the lever to operate the switch and some dont, so you pay your money and take your chance. Mine luckily had the cutout on the underside of the lever and are also adjustable (are yours?) but will only operate the switch on the top two settings. HTH

Edit: have you tried the old lever back on the bike just to make sure you didnt upset the switch when changing lever over? just a thought

Found a picture showing the small notch for switch next to mounting hole, does your new one have this and is it in the same position as the old one?

Just bypass the switch then it's all sorted

Sorry should have said I've got a 2011 model! So I don't think that notch will make any difference

I found that lever setting 1 wouldn't operate the switch. Not a problem for me as I use 3 but could have been fixed with a little packing in the lever switch slot.

Picture with new one fitted and old one next to it you can see that the new one does not have the downwards protruding tab to operate the switch, the bike will now start without pulling the clutch in

Re: Cheapo lever and clutch switch?

The bike needs the clutch switch operational as without it, even if bypassed will run in a neutral ignition and fueling map.

All injected Suzuki's are the same and on a GSXR600 06 onwards the bike looses around 30bhp!
