A decent car stereo, after a good radio, cd/USB/aux maybe bluetooth to replace the cassette player in my clio. Budget around £50.
Ideally able to have a stalk adapter as I like my steering wheel controls and built in dash screen

That's some spec for £50! Id get looking for stereos that will connect to your stalks easily to narrow it down and then look for some second hand units on eay!

IIRC (not sure, its been a while since I faffed around with that sort of thing) most head units are steering wheel control compatible, its the mini connector loom that adapts the stereo to your car loom/speakers that determines whether or not your controls work. Confidently they're the expensive part (for what they are).

I've been looking and quite a few aren't steering wheel compatible. I'll be using the USB the most by hooking up my iPhone to it.

I have a renault steering wheel control unit that I may be willing to part with. Think its off a laguna of similar age, will check tonight.

On a related note; I'm after a Bluetooth-enabled car stereo. 2 unit space on my Impreza to mount it. I want it mainly to be able to make and receive calls hands free, through the car's stereo/speakers. Phone it'll be used with is a Nokia Lumia 800. Any suggestions?

JVC in stereo bluetooth receivers aren't to bad considering the price, else I'd recommend staying with something that says Parrot inside.
