BSB Thruxton - Which Day is Best?
 

Calling all BSB officianados...

The wife and I are planning to head over the Thruxton for the BSB this year. Which is the most enjoyable day to go?

Obviously the race is the main event, but also the busiest. Has anyone been for practice or qualifying in previous years? Any good?

Only ever been on Race Day, if the weather is nice, get there early. Space in the spectator area's fills up quickly and take sun cream. Thruxton is really open and on a Sunny day with a bit of wind you will burn to a crisp very quickly. Trust me...

Can you not go for both days and make a weekend out of it, as exciting as qualifying is, nothing beats the atmosphere on a race day.

If you go on the bike, its not to bad getting out on race day, they do marshall the traffic reasonably well. Its much easier if you stay till all the racings finished and you'll more than likely find you get out onto the A303 quite quickly.

If its wet and you go on the bike, take a side stand puck as the bike parking is in a grass field...

Friday is very relaxed as for many its just free practice time. People there but not as many as Saturday and Sunday. You can get more time talking to people on Friday's more than any other day.

Time table for Brands but will be almost the same as any other weekend at a BSB meeting.

Thanks for the advice/timetable - looks like there's a lot on all days so Friday and Saturday are still options. Would prefer to go on the bike so might check the forecast nearer the time!

You should get a weekend pass for yourself and go all three days. Take the Gaffer on the Sunday.

I love the friday at the BSB I go to Knockhill every year on the Friday. There's usually some races later on the Saturday too.

I'm going to the practice on the Friday, less people and more time to walk around the paddock if I want.

i get a lay in Friday and Saturday but were out at 8.55 on Sunday!!!!! On the other hand were away by 1.30-2pm as ace goes off at 12.15!! Good and bad all at the same time.
