Renthal bars; longer cables needed?
So my handle bars may be a little bent as of half an hour ago(was surprised they bend so easily).
If I were to fit some renthals would I need longer lines? Cheers J |
Re: Longer cables needed
If yours is a naked, then probably not, but there a few different heights for Renthals

Re: Longer cables needed
It is indeed a naked. Was thinking med, low or ultra low. Depends on what I can get a hold of tomorrow tbh.
Is there anything else I should now about fitting renthals? Fitment of the controls etc? J |
Re: Longer cables needed
I think all of them will be fine
You'll need to drill a hole in each side, as the switchgear has a locating pip. You can file it off, but then the throttle might spin round the bar |
Re: Longer cables needed
You wouldn't happen to know off the top of your head what size said holes need to be?
If not I'll just have a look at the old bars. Just a thought but if there is a pip in the switchgear, how does one go about removing them from the current bars? |

To remove the switches, just undo the screws and split the switch gear, the pip will come out of the hole easy enough |
Re: Longer cables needed
I filed the little pip off and have had no problems with switch gear moving, which is lucky because I filed the little pip off ages ago before I realised what it was! ;-)
I also fitted Renthals to my pointy Sport and only needed slightly longer cables and lines, so I imagine that you will be fine. |
