Tail tidy fitting problem.

I don't know what t is about my bike but everytime I try and do something to it things go wrong. I managed to do a tail chop a week or so ago, but now the damn thing just won't go back together properly. The end screws for the tail tidy will not go in, no matter what I do. The original screws and clips were rusty and knackered, so I've bought spring clips off ebay, which are to big and just will not bite, no matter what I do. The holes seem lined up but they just won't go in. It's driving me nuts as I just want to ride the damb thing, but at this rate I may just sell it. Does anyone have any suggestions what else I can try to screw the damn thing in? Thanks.

Local diy shop? Local motor parts shop? Id take the remains of an original one around with me. If these places dont have them, maybe theyll know somewhere that does?

Have tried B&Q and screwfix. Local DIY shops don't seem to exist any more. Ebay only seem to do one size of clip, which is too big. At a bit of a loose end now really.

Take your old ones to a local bike garage, suzuki dealers or bike parts shop and ask if they have any the same laying about as they usually do, or order them from robinsons foundry or the like. HTH

Apologies for the rant - think I'd just reached the end of my tether last night :(

Popped it into local garage this morning. Thankfully he had a drawer full of odd clips, etc, so sorted it for me. Now I'm just going to ride and enjoy the damn thing
