Extending cut rear mudguard - Curvy.

As some of you know I have a curvy, now the previous owner hacked the snow plough rear mudguard off but didn't replace it with anything. I have a rear hugger but my number plate get filthy one slight rain shower and you literally cannot see it by the time I get home because of the dirt flung up off the wheel.

Now my plan is to obtain an off cut from the standard under tray as I know some people cut them down and I don't want to spend a fortune on a new undertray and bolt it to the bottom of the number plate with some stiffening bars up the back.

Do we think this would work and does anyone have the mudguard part on the standard undertray laying about I could pinch?

I`ll have a look in my shed for the rear part I cut off. I must be getting old, I prefer the snow plough back on these days, looks a bit cack but does a good job.

I'm lazy though lol. I dont want the hassle of changing the whole under tray. Talking of cheap I got both pillion pegs for my curvy for £3 on eBay and they are in brillint condition.

Leebex if you do have the bit u cut off that would be amazing.

Mine was hacked off too, actually it looked like a previous owner had let his dog do it for him with a blunt knife and fork:rolleyes: . I managed to pick up a spanking new undertray from ebay for minimal money, I'm from Yorkshire, similar to Scotsmen but lacking the generous streak:cool:. It only took a couple of leisurely hours to fit and that included having to pop down the local breakers for new indicators due to the originals having the wrong nuts forced onto them. It's really not a huge job and you'll have the satisfaction of doing it for yourself!:thumright:
