Re: SBS sintered brake pad opinions?
Interesting that ive never heard of sbs pads til i took mine off my gsxr earlier. The bike isnt braking well on the rear, and i think the culprit is the pads being possibly too racy for road use. But it seems they do alot of different price ranges for racing etc so i should imagine yours would be no problem. When ive put new discs on theyve always said gentle braking for 300 miles, not sure about just pads but i know on my front disc it was more like 600 miles till it looked mated with the pad. probs gona be alot more than that on my new rear, still mating at about 400 miles.

Re: SBS sintered brake pad opinions?
I put SBS sintered street pads in the track SV, they worked very well at Silverstone. Perhaps too well into a damp corner at the start of the 2nd session... I suspect that would have gone wrong whatever pads I'd had.
In short I'm happy fitting them and will probably use them for the road bike too. In terms of bedding in what you want to do is do a few firm braking actions down from around 70-30mph, then carry on riding to let them keep from getting too hot. Don't fuss about holding them on while riding or anything silly. And it goes without saying be careful not to get rear-ended :) Jambo |
Re: SBS sintered brake pad opinions?
that's great , pleased to hear you would use them on road bikes as well , as iv said its first time iv put new brake pads on bike as only had bike for a year , I will take it easy with them to start , the pads were recommended by bike devils when I asked for good pads for the bike , just wanted to make sure it wasn't a overkill , thanks for info

Re: SBS sintered brake pad opinions?
Ive been using the RS (race sintered) on my gsxr for racing and trackdays. They are excellent, well priced if you shop around and bed in after a lap or two.
