Suzuki Gladius Twin horns - a question
Hi UK riders
I want to replace my stock horn on my Suzuki Gladius with twins. So I have a couple of questions. So tks in advance to any answers. 1) Do I need a relay that the existing wiring goes to before splitting to the two horns? 2) Will the two horns work with no relay and just splitting the wiring to each from the main existing wiring? 3) Do the twin horns need to go straight to battery with its own new wiring and forgetting the old wiring? 4) Will two horns fit in the existing space for the single one if using same styled horn shape as shown below? 5) Has anyone got a SIMPLE wiring diagram that a non-electrical person like myself can follow! 5) Any further info would be appreciated. Tks....Ride Safe http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/04/25/2uhutare.jpg Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk HD |

Tks for the clear answers. If you have a Dummies wiring diagram could you pass it along if I send a PM with my email address? Tks....Ride Safe Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk HD |
Re: Suzuki Gladius Twin horns - a question
Computers are not my strong point, (I prefer oily, whirly bits*), but - if I can get it to happen - I'll put the diagram here.
Watch this space. But send me your email anyway - just in case of, (another), computer based fail on my part. * And wiring, I like wiring too. |
Re: Suzuki Gladius Twin horns - a question
Just a question - why 2? I mean obviously it'd be louder but you can get single loud horns

Re: Suzuki Gladius Twin horns - a question
Normally they're different pitched horns to gives nice discordant sound.

Main reason from installing the twin horns is a louder sound. I live in the Philippines and its one of the best ways to deal with not dying on the roads! Tks....Ride Safe Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk HD |

I've ridden over there, surely a minigun or rockets would be more effective ?

Re: Suzuki Gladius Twin horns - a question
A diagram:
http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...rnWiring-1.jpg You'll need a, (typically), 30 amp automotive relay, 'Normally Open', as in the switch in the relay is 'off' until the relay is energised. Note the relay numbers are DIN standard, I'm not sure what will be found where you are, but if different tell us what you've got and we'll work it out. Relay terminal numbers; there are four in my diagram but relays with five are often found too, the fifth one will be numbered 87a, don't use that one, it's the normally closed connection - if you connect the horns to that they'll be on all the time unless you press the button, not good. You'll note that the original horn connections go to 85 and 86. In theory 85 should be negative and 86 positive, as technically that's the DIN standard, but in this circumstance it won't matter which way round you put them. Put the fuse in the supply wire as close as is practical to the battery - only the cabling after the fuse is protected, that before is not - so have as little of that as is feasible. For ease of connection you can take your supply wire from the battery side of the solenoid. Depending on the horns you're using they may only have one connection: the positive. The negative being supplied through the bracket. |
