Will a k1 engine fit a k4 bike? (sv650)
can any one help me.
i brought an engine for my sv650 k4 and when it came it was a k1 engine how ever the company that it came from will not take it back because they said i may have had parts of it. i was told by someone that the engine would still fit so a friend helped me put it in. i swapped over the neutral switch because it was the only obvious wire that was different how ever there is no spark on the bike. |

Well, if it's their mistake don't be fobbed off. If you have an advert or a receipt that states it was the engine you wanted then tell them so, don't be afraid to get legal advice - the CAB can at least get you started. They're pretty good at consumer stuff in my experience.
Original question: Yes, as you''ve found it will bolt straight in. You'll need to change the inlet rubbers, the alternator rotor and stator with their associated wiring for your original ones*. If the top ends of your original motor are OK, use the camshafts too. *The alternator is essentially the same, but swapping the lot means you won't have to alter any wiring - it will plug straight in. |
