Which ferry to the Isle of Wight?
Any preferances to wich one is less likely to trash my bike this weekend?

Re: Ferry to the Isle of Whight
I've taken the one from Portsmouth and was ok, they don't tie the bike like the ferry to france but the trip is shorter and the sea is quite calm

Whight link ?
I can bring a rachet strap, Ape side stands are legendry rubbish... :( |
Re: Ferry to the Isle of Whight
Bungy cord tightly rapped around front brake lever to stop her rolling.
Used to do the Liverpool - Belfast run with a bike. Used our jackets to pad out the bike between the ships vertical steel beams then lots of rope to lash it tight. Pete |

Like the brake idea.
Fingers crossed then. :) |

Yup I had no problem with the side stand, neither the other 2 bikes on the ferry. It is a really slow ferry |
Re: Ferry to the Isle of Whight
The most painful knock is to your wallet. Mile for mile it is more expensive than travelling first class to New Zealand!

Re: Ferry to the Isle of Whight
Ive used them on car trips.
Id use the zx6 but not got round to fixing it yet ( still). Like most aprillia owners im parinoied about the less than stable side stand fitted to the RSV. |
Re: Ferry to the Isle of Whight
Fun vs cash .you cant take it with you.
Sis looking after parents . I deserve some play time Plus sarah and david got the lodge allready .the ferry only £40 . And missing out on the last 3 ride outs im not feeling guilty. |
Re: Ferry to the Isle of Whight
Oh I didn't mean you should feel guilty - I just think the prices for a bike are a total rip off considering how short the distance is. Have a great weekend - hope the weather is nice for you.
