What tyre pressures?
 

Hi,

Something i havent checked on my bike as of yet is the tyre pressures front and rear.....

What should they be set at for road riding?

Also doing a trackday next month what adjustments to the tyre pressures would need doing?

33/36 here too. Maybe a bit less for trackday for more grip?

Track day guys I know only drop them by a couple of PSI.

I had a leaking valve drop my front to 12psi and it still felt OK-ish on a normal steady ride, only the sudden reduction in chicken strips told me something was amiss when I got back. Don't think you want to go that low though.

Less on trackdays as the heat the tyres recieve from both tyre warmers and or just being ragged about will increase pressure. Usually about 4-6 psi lower than standard for track i think.

Lovely ill go check them after work i think mine might be a tad too high, feels a bit jittery under breaking and bumps

Lowering the pressure really depends on what tyre you have. Some tyres just wont require you to drop them for any significant performance increase. My Michelins warm up quickly but don't feel any less grippy in the dry on the track with normal pressures. The biggest difference in handling and braking actually came from the level of petrol in the tank. With the added weight of a full tank the bike handled a lot differently to say 1/3 tank. Unless you're racing, I would suggest you reduce by very small incriments (1 or 2 PSI) to determine whether it makes any difference. If you're not experienced at Trackdays then leave it 33/36 until you get used to the track and have more of a feel for the tyres and bike performance.

I wouldnt say im a complete NOVICE on bikes been riding bikes since i was 5 and previously raced mini bikes up to the age of 13/14 so shouldnt be TOO slow ;)

Haha wouldnt say better as only been riding my SV about a month or so..... still learning!
