Ixion @ Cadwell

Anyone else gatecrashing the Ixion days at Cadwell in August? I've booked inters/piglets but there are loads of spots still available in the novice/eeyore group. Plenty cheapness.

I'll be there in the piglets on my FJ1200 and my mates in the eeyores on his 1050 Sprint.

Looks like there are still five or six spaces in the Eeyores (novices) for this one.

Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th of August, £100 each, or £180 for both days including the evening session on the Thursday. For anyone who's not done a trackday before, this is the perfect introduction - it's not a public day (but they don't mind gatecrashers boosting the balance sheet) so it's super-friendly and there's free instruction for those who need it.

Thoroughly recommended.

I've seen you hustling that thing. Might even say hello at some point.

Well that was a cracking couple of days. Highlight was the Tiglets session on Thursday evening, my first time out with the fast boys. Think it's almost time to move up another group.

Lucky with the weather too, for the most part.

Hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as I did. Legs are aching like crazy though, and I've only got one day to rest before Snetterton.

Had an absolutely fantastic couple of days and I agree that the Tiglet session was great. For a number of laps I thought I was the only one out there, I can't believe we had so much space. It was my mates first time out on a track and he thought it was absolutely brilliant too. The only problem now is that I realise I've been away from the tracks for too long and the FJ is capable but riding Al's Sprint didn't help and I really want a new bike. I think this is going to get expensive.

Any idea who the chap in the Eeyores was on the blue pointy? I have a photo of them taking the alternative line up the mountain!

Have fun a Snetterton and I'll see you next year.

It was a quiet session - the last session of the day usually is, let alone the evening sessions - but the joy of being in the right group is finding there's less traffic to carve through, making the circuit seem emptier.

With traffic I was doing laps at between 1:58 and 2:02. Without I was doing 1:53 to 1:55. Still 20 seconds a lap slower than the fastest of the fast boys (including GM) but, but also 20 seconds a lap faster than some of the inters, and enough to give me a taste for the fast group.
