£246 to have it restricted :(

Had to pay £246 for a restriction kit (46.6bhp) and an hours labour... How depressing is that

Could be worse, at least it's not 33bhp

Hardly seems worth it if its a 650 there only about 76bhp to start with would that extra 20bhp make that much difference.
The law is just mental..

I agree totally, it is stupid that you have to pay for less power haha! At least it's that little more than 33bhp :p

I didn't know anyone was doing 46.6hp kits for the SV. If they are they are almost certainly of the washer / throttle stop type which are, at least occasionally, far from trouble free.

I'd have just gone for the 33hp ECU, which is a straight plug-in if you can find one for your model.

Easy for me to say though, I passed DAS.

Well. 30bhp more. Closer to being double lol.

Its gotta be better than 33bhp though, and gotta be worth keeping your licence and insurance for. Surely?

It wont be that slow :)

Bad maths there a :D:D:D:D
Im not saying ride without it if your restricted that would be silly.
I just think its a money spinner changing all the laws on passing your test if I have this right you can pass at 19 restricted to 46bhp the at 21 or 24 you have to take the test again to ride anything bigger.
So if im correct that's doing the test twice paying twice getting stressed about it twice and what happens if you fail do you keep your 46 restricted or do you have to start again.

Bike tests have become far too complicated. I'm glad I did mine before all this nonsense.

£ 246 to fit a couple of washers? Id have just got the 33hp ECU as mentioned, sure they are around £90 and you can fit it yourself with 2 allen keys to remove the seat and lift the tank.

Wonder is Suzuki will bring out 46hp ECU for the new models.
