Watch your speed in London for a while

Just a quick heads-up. Apparently there is a big operation on at the moment (according to the officer who stopped me) to catch speeders in London, particularly on the larger roads heading into/out of town. I got done going over the Hammersmith flyover westbound by a marked car sitting in the slipway just under the down ramp (therefore completely out-of-sight and detecting cars/bikes from behind). The first I knew of it was near the Fullers Brewery when I saw the reflection of blue lights in the back window of the car in front. The officers were nice enough (both bikers) but said that they had to give me something for being "a tad cheeky" over the limit so I got off very lightly with just 3 points and £60 fine.

Ride safe!

Cheers,

Paul

Humph. The Hammersmith flyover has the most ridiculous speed limit. Try doing 30 over that and you'll become little more than a rolling road block, to the point of feeling unsafe. Average speeds are between 40-50 on the clock.

I know the fly over well and also find it hard not to be pulling at least 50 over it...
