Clutch noise - Curvy.
 

Hiya guys/gals,

I have a knocking noise on my Sv SX which seems to be coming from the right hand side clutch cover according to the old screwdriver to the ear test.
I kno it is not the CCT as I have recently put some k3 tensioners on which has got rid of the common ticking noise.
When I pull the clutch in there is no decrease in noise, the noise is only noticeable when in close proximity to the clutch cover.
Any help in diagnosing this would be much appreciated.

Some important questions (to my mind at least):

1) How long have you owned the bike?
2) Is this a new noise?
3) When does it occur? Is it apparent at idle, higher rpm, constant throttle, closed throttle, opening throttle etc?
4) Is the bike particularly high mileage / what it it's rough history?
5) Has there been any other recent work to the bike (including servicing)?

Without this we can make some guesses, but there's no point having you chase some thing around the bike's recently had a traumatic event for instance.

Thanks for the replies:
1) owned the bike nearly 3 years
2) A farely new noise, maybe 2/3 month old, thought it was the CCT but replaced them last week and still the knocking noise is there
3) I believe it happens at all RPM, just carnt hear it when riding because of the engine and exhaust noise
4) 22,000 miles and only 1 previous owner
5) serviced it last week when I changed the CCT

About Feb time I replaced the clutch cover because it had warped

thought they all sounded lime that. could be a worn basket.

I thought that myself but I am sure the noise would dull or even go when pulling the clutch in :/

After 22000 id say the bike is only just run in. Why did you change the cam chain tensoners ? Just ride it ,if you keep the oil level right I dont think you will have any problems.
