Re: computer help needed
Is it just the bluetooth drivers you need then ?
If so you should be able to download them. If you can tell us the make and model of your laptop I'm sure we can try and help. I'm assuming you have checked the obvious and made sure the bluetooth is enabled ( I've done that before, switched if off and not noticed then spent ages trying to get it working again by re-installing drivers etc etc ) |

Re: computer help needed
Make/model of the laptop? Should have the drivers on the manufacturer website.

Re: computer help needed
you could do a system restore to take you back before the update, takes 10 mins and is also reversible.
I find the easiest way to re-establish devices such as this is to right click and remove each of the problem devices in device manager, reboot the machine and they will be re detected assuming the drivers are still present. |

I've tried to do a restore but won't let me. Trying all options but it ain't looking good.

Aye, this. Also, you could try either changing the drivers for the Bluetooth devices or right-click and removing them completely, rebooting and then letting Windows Update search for an appropriate driver online. Can sometimes work, but of course, if that Connection 2 is your main interface to get the machine online then that probably won't work. As long as the old drivers are still present in the Windows driver repository, you might be able to just switch them back to how they were. Right-click one of the Bluetooth devices -> Properties -> Driver tab -> Update Driver. At the wizard prompt you want No, not this time -> Next -> Install from a list or specific location -> Next -> Don't search, I will choose the driver to install -> Next. You'll be shown a list of compatible hardware, pick one that looks familiar or is NOT the most recent -> Next. Windows should then update the drivers and give you a final window to state the status of the driver install and usually prompt for a reboot. Reboot, check Device Manager again and if all looks well then repeat for the other two erroring devices. If you get to the Don't search part of the process and then don't get a list of drivers, that's when you'll need to identify what Bluetooth hardware you have and find drivers for it. Download them, extract them from their compressed ZIP/RAR archive and/or install them; if they automatically update the devices to a working state then yay, if not then you'll have to use the Have disk button on the list window, point the installer to the location where to extracted the drivers to and take it from there. Drop me a PM if you have any trouble! |
