I want to shoot a gun
 

I've watched "The Good, Bad, and the Ugly" too many times, and want to shoot an old-school revolver more than anything. I don't care if it's inaccurate or shiny. I want it to go BLAAAP, the end of the barrel explode in a flare the size of a small elephant, I want the recoil to break my arm, be blinded by a cloud of smoke, take 20 minutes to reload, and I want it to be too heavy to hold with one arm.

Where can look to do something like this? I just want to do it once. I was hoping to be able to go to some shooting range, pay some cash, shoot some guns and leave, but I can't find if that's possible via google. I don't want to become a member of a club and pay membership fees unless I absolutely have to- I just plan on doing it once, maybe twice.

Anybody know where I can look?

Really for that you need to play with black powder. Maybe a copy of a navy colt. But if you can find a walker copy.

For recoil, a ruger Redhawk in .44 made me shake my arm and say f*** I want one.

You need to get over to the continental ranges as our knee jerk laws don't allow the law abiding to shoot any more.


I used to have friend who was well into the historical breech loaders, I will track him down and see what the situation re a trial somewhere is (probably Bisley).

take a holiday to the states and i'm sure that there will be somewhere that will fill your needs.

You cant do it in this country because handguns are banned.

Go to Central Europe and you can play with all sorts of stuff.

Fired a AK47, M16, MP5 and a big ass Magnum in Prague last year on a stag do :smt072

Aye, eastern europe run mad ranges with silly firearm choices, the US is not far behind. France offers some reasonable shooting.

You could however google 'Airsoft' if you want some real fun without touching real steel.

I'm not sure what sort of gun your after but it's gonna have to be on the level of a magnum to get that experience.

A mate recently went with his grown up kids to Florida and they spent the afternoon shooting all sorts of guns. Tbf they went to do the theme parks etc but having been a few times he decided to check out this option and he said they had a great time.

Well you could ride some of the best biking roads in the world while you are there.

Or do what Chris did and get jiggy with the ladyboys.
