Bike travelling?

Im thinking of travelling europe next year on the sv650 . Want to go farest end at least of europe. Things thats best to take .
Good destinations to stop at on a night time. Best route to take, insurance to have etc . Best time of year . I will camp.
May do it for charity or just cause i fancy a challenge . Thanks

If you do a charity run, I'll put up an extra fiver for a photo taken outside the factory at Sant’Agata, Bolognese.

Where do you want to go?
Istanbul, Portugal, Gibraltar, Messina, Kalamata, only a few that spring to mind. Personally wouldn't go Eastern Europe (maybe because I grew up there) or Scandinavia.

I just did a trip to Croatia, Alps and Dolomites are stunning, I'd recommend getting a Garmin Zumo planning a route on say Google maps and uploading it, it makes following a route on minor (most fun!) roads so easy, also get Europe campsite POI's for it from here, absolutely invaluable...

I haven't been to Southern Italy or Greece, but the rest was "fairly" easy. English was spoken wherever it needed to be (hotel, b&b, restaurant) and if it wasn't, there was always a way around.
It will be expensive (close to a grand for petrol alone) and you'll need time.

Pack a small (tesco 2 man) tent, sleeping bag and some clothes (a few tools under the seat go without saying). Unless you want to cook our own food, no reason why you shouldn't fit into a 50l tail bag and a tank bag.

If you decide not to go for the furthest end of Europe, then the Dolomites were an incredible surprise and a total blast!
Just done an Istanbul trip with this set up:
