OMO : Cheap tablet advice
I've been looking into getting a tablet for casual browsing and keeping the kids entertained in the car.
I can get a Samsung tablet 2 for £139 or £99 refurbed. They seem a fairly good option for not a lot of money. <Link> They come with 8gig and an SD slot. If I add a 32 gig SD card to it will it work like a 40 gig machine or will it still run the apps from the 8 gig and just use the 32 gig for media storage? Anyone got one and able to give an opinion? Anyone got one for sale? Anyone got a better suggestion for a tablet for not a lot of money that has decent battery life, decent performance and likely to last more than a week? |

I've got a galaxy tab 2 sat here only used it twice as we are a apple household. Might be willing to sell if you mention the right price

Re: OMO : Cheap tablet advice
mate of mine has a google nexus thingy, pretty cheap and quite good.
We have an Asus transformer, but that's probably a bit too pro for what you need |

I have a transformer, and still run out of storage 32GB, on board. 64GB SD in the keyboard and a further 64GB Micro in the tablet itself. A few films/ebooks and a lifetimes music means my music is across a number of cards
But, you have the option of moving apps onto the SD card to save flash memory |

Yeah, until you go on holiday and find there is no wifi in your hotel.
The wife loves her cruises, the wifi would cost more than the holiday |
Re: OMO : Cheap tablet advice
Amount of money cruises cost you'd think they'd throw in wifi the tight fecks

I came back from cape verde a few weeks ago. €50 for 24 hours wifi in the hotel or €200 for a week.

Re: OMO : Cheap tablet advice
I picked up an Ainol tablet, stunning spec for very little money really, only issue is that at present Sky Go only works on the Nexus 7 and Galaxy Tab tablets and I have not found a way round that as yet (Ainol is super cheap really and has HDMi out, my wee nexux 7 does not).
Tho the Ainol does take a bit of work to get the best out of them and regrettably looks like a bleeding jesus tablet err i mean iPad. On another note wifi on a liner is a bit awkward unless in cell range of the shore, running a free wifi over a satelite link onboard would be really expensive with 1000 passangers and 2000 crew hammering it! |
