HPI Check
As title,
I'm looking to buy a GSXR 750 privately but would like to do a HPI check first, does anyone have a spare one I could buy one from you? TIA, George :) |
Re: HPI Check
Make sure it covers finance. Some cheap ones '<£5' don't cover finance checks, and also frame/ engine vin checks.

Re: HPI Check
To cover finance you can make your own reciept, make sure it's signed by both parties and given to both parties.
Had this problem with a car a few years back, when the bank contacted me asking for the 3k owed I showed the reciept and address of the person who sold me the car. The bank sent me a letter to confirm they would persue the seller and not me :) |

The real question is 'what type of finance is it?' If HP then the finance company own the vehicle. You cannot get legal title in the way described above. But in reality the finance company doesn't want the cost or time pursuing reposession if they can pursue the debtor, so leave you with the vehicle. If its a personal loan, then the finance company have no legal claim on the vehicle itself anyway, only the loan. So there is a big difference. The HPI check is the far better solution here. |
Re: HPI Check
I must've just been lucky then.
So I'd say do an HPI check AND get a reciept for the fun of it. :) Also, if it's a personal loan it wouldn't come up on an HPI check would it? |
