Clutch lever switch bypass? Pointy
Hi everyone
I want to replace my clutch lever and perch for an aftermarket one i have on my other bike. The aftermarket perch and lever does not have any switch facility, so i wondered if anyone new if i could do away with the switch and wiring. and if i could what do i need to do? And if i can, how far back along the switch loom can i go to reduce the wiring around the switch area? Thanks |

Re: Clutch lever start switch
Im a curvy owner so dont know much about pointies but im sure ive read on here a few times that they dont like clutch switch bypass as it makes them run rough? Sure another pointy owner will be along soon to give you the info you need and correct me if im wrong. HTH

Re: Clutch lever start switch
You need the switch on the pointy as it runs a map that cuts the power when bypassed

Re: Clutch lever start switch
My sv had those small adjustable levers.I had a micro switch fitted to the clutch actuator behind the front sprocket cover with the wiring extended to suit.
Ive since removed it and gone back to standard levers, as I replaced it once and it was likely to go again. |
Re: Clutch lever start switch
Thanks leebex, it sounds like to much aggro to replace so will have to leave it unfortunately

Re: Clutch lever switch bypass? Pointy
Ive been thinking about this.... Could you replace/relocate it with a small push to make switch on the dash?
