Holland and Belgium

Heading over to visit a friend in Rotterdam next month, was just going to take the car but is it worth taking the bike?

Ridden through Belgium before on the way to Germany and it looked pretty flat and boring, are there any decent roads there at all??

I went to Belgium earlier in the year mate, there are pockets of good twistys in the countryside but nothing major.

The highways are poorly surfaced in places, they don't repair pot holes until there is a whole section to repair.

Going from Calais? Then really there are no interesting roads on that way up. Did a weekend slog to Apeldoorn and did the Calais/tunnel route because it worked out £80 cheaper than the ferry from Harwich-Hook including petrol for the bike!

Was one of the most boring rides ever. At least you don't go near the Brussels ring road :smt043 I can vouch for specialone's comment, there is one particular slip road that is like a moonscape. The Dutch people more than make up for the boring roads though :D
