short boots?
 

anyone had any experience with similar boots to these?

I've already got Sidi courier boots but would like something a bit lighter but am concerned about safety etc...

thoughts?

i've no idea about safety but surely if they weren't very safe you wouldn't see the likes of sidi and alpinestars making them? they look so nice though! and think i may have to get myself a pair aswell

If I were to wear a pair of these I'd be making sure my leather trousers had shin protection.

If Stu had been wearing something like that when he hit that fence post I doubt he'd enough shin left to pin together.

I own a pair of those exact alpinestar boots. Very comfortable for walking and I think they are an acceptable compromise for around town/low speed. Normally wear them with kevlar jeans so I can just jump off and walk around and they just feel like normal shoes. Obviously they lack the protection of proper boots but I think the main benefits are abrasion protection the sole wont crush easily, therefore hopefully neither would your foot!

Nice to have, but they were a bit expensive for the limited use they get.
