Damn - bike damaged

I got my blue pointy (2nd hand) exactly a month ago. Yesterday morning I paid the first installment. Yesterday afternoon it got knocked over.

Had the garage cast an eye over the damage for a ball park figure. Possibly write off time. A write off wouldn't cover the finance, so I'm trying to reduce the damage bill.

Recommendations for a good sounding legal aftermarket can would be greatly appreciated!!!

Re: B*gger. Bike damaged

Look at free flow on eBay to see if they do one. Got one on my vstrom and it's just an unbadged Beowulf. Sound good and mine cost £99 new.

Front caliper, bar end, brake lever, twisted top yoke, exhaust, that rear snow plough monstrosity, front right indicator, chipped fork.

I can see it being a tail tidy and after market exhaust to keep the cost below write off value

what's the twisted top yoke gonna mean? New top yoke only? Those can be aftermarket too....

New after market levers, exhaust and tail tidy cover off the majority and might been what you'd do eventually anyway....if it were me I wouldn't bother with the claim assuming you would be making a claim against you own policy?

It'll be in third parties insurance. My worry though is that it will be written off if OEM stuff is used, so I'm trying to find ways to drop the value of the claim. Bizarre situation really.

Get second hand parts, shouldn't cost more than a few hundred with that list.
I got a mint top yoke a few months ago for £45 quid. Calipers can be had for a similar price, pretty sure I have a spare left front one somewhere in the garage.

My curvy was knocked over by a van in our car park two weeks ago. I was told this week that it's been written off and an offer of £1200 made to me for it. I'll buy it back but try for a better offer first. What pee's me off is that it was a perfectly good bike before the accident and I'll now be the one out of pocket having to spend a heap of time sorting it out. Fecking van drivers.
