Front spark plug removal?
Please help, how the hell do you get the front plug out? Tried moving the rad but no joy, also my fuse box is loose under the pillion seat, shouldn't it be mounted somewhere secure?
I know it seems like a lot of daft questions with all my recent posts but i know nothing! :/ |
Re: Spark plugs & fuse boxes
Sorry MOD's in wrong section, tried to move but cant. Please move to tech section if it shouldn't be here.
Cheers Dan |
Re: Spark plugs & fuse boxes
Spark plug will come out if you move the rad, have you taken the bottom bolt out completely?
You need the OEM (one in the toolkit) spark plug tool, which pivots in the middle. Helps to hold the rad out of the way with a lump of wood or similar to leave your hands free. It is a right PITA job |
Re: Front spark plug removal?
Tool kit wasnt sold with the bike, took all bolts off scrapped knuckles still no joy, just dont fancy paying a garage £80 to change the plugs!

Re: Front spark plug removal?
Ask on here, someone's bound to have one knocking about
Or Ebay, Cheaper than getting the garage to do it for certain |
Re: Front spark plug removal?
I used a spark plug socket for a car, worked fine

Re: Front spark plug removal?
I have the sockets and plug socket but cannot move the rad enough to get in there even with undoing all the bolts

Re: Front spark plug removal?
The front plug really is a pain in the proverbial. The only way to do it is the way you are now. Unless you remove the rad completely.

Draining the coolant and dropping the radiator out of the way isn't hard, if you've not got the right tool, it's what I'd do.
