Rear light shorting
Well I finally got round to fitting my tail tidy today... :)
I tested all the lights and amazingly they all worked. The problem I've found Is that when indicating, my tail light dims and brightens in sequence to the indicator flash, but only the top 3 bulbs. If they all did the same thing, I'd be thinking earth fault, but only that top bank! Any ideas? Or is it a characteristic? :) Many thanks :) |
Re: Rear light shorting

LEDs luminance works on the current passing through them once thier forward bias voltage is reached, hence the resistors limiting the current (controling luminance). The rear tail light's circuit has top three pairs paralleled separate to bottom 4 pairs. Presume you checked without engine running , when indicator lamps come on then the battery voltage drops a bit, and if your battery is low then the differneces in LED Lumiinance will be more noticable. See what it looks like with engine running. |

That other thread was a long, but good read.. |
Re: Rear light shorting
Generally when lights dim in sequence with indicators it points to a bad earth
