Contract of Employment
Would anybody have a read of mine before I sign it and pass comment.
Been here 21 years without a contract and suddenly got this and they are telling us they must be signed within a week! A few things I don't like, makes me nervous. |
Re: Contratc of Employment
Where is it?

Can email or PM.

Re: Contratc of Employment
You'll probably get a better response if you post it (or parts of it which concern you). Otherwise I'm sure an expert will offer to take your PM/Email. I would only be useful in part.

Re: Contract of Employment
IIRC, if you've been there 21years and no contract signed they cant legally force you to sign one, as both parties have accepted an assumed contract. I could be wrong and the legal trained guys will be along soon to correct me i'm sure.

Re: Contract of Employment
The downside of this verbal contract is any changes that you don't like must be queried or you will be assumed to have accepted them.

Re: Contract of Employment
before he retired my dad worked in HR and knows a lot about employment law.
If there's specifics you're worried about you could PM them to me and I could pass them on. Without knowing what your problems are its difficult to say but often even big companies put stuff in their contracts that are either illegal or unenforceable, in that case its generally best to sign but to be aware the sections are easily fought if issues arise. A lot of companies just put this stuff in because it stops those not in the know from even trying to complain. |
Re: Contract of Employment
I find it funny that contract is made of two words: con and tract. Obviously they were invented to con people out of land. What you need is a conjob.
