Re: Maxxis tyres
Ask Wideboy he says they're very good
Me got Metzeler z6's, which are cheapish, but are very good too |
Re: Maxxis tyres
fine in the dry, ok in the wet but not great but fine for the price.
I have one on the back of my bike is seems to be wearing well, appears half worn at 4000 miles |
Re: Maxxis tyres
i have the sportmaxx not the touring ones. I only use them on the SV so not sure what they'd be like on bigger bikes but i hear good things. I think they're good for the money.
On the sv i found them pretty good, in the dry i find they wear well, heat up nicely and personally not had them let go, only used them in the wet occasionally but they seamed ok, the SV is a toy for me so not commuted them. |
Re: Maxxis tyres
Had them on my zx6f3 over last winter .
Not in metzeler teritory but good enough in the wet |
Re: Maxxis tyres
When I replaced my tyres (I got michelin pilot roads and I love them!), I talked to the guy that was fitting them and he said that Maxxis tyres are made very cheaply by a chinese sub company using old technology, the quality isn't nearly as good as the bigger brands and that they lose their profile much worse because of a lack of structure. So overall they don't sound brilliant. That's just his opinion so don't take this as a criticism.
I got my michelins for just under £150 and Maxxis' were around £140 (talking about pairs obviously), i'd personally rather pay the extra £10 and get better tyres |
