All blacks
The all blacks get fed up when opponents don't face them when they do the haka. If I was the opponent I'd either laugh at them or just ignore them. By facing them doesn't that mean that they've already got one up on you?

Re: All blacks
not really I wouldn't say. I would think it disrespectful to not watch frankly, but I do understand/know what you mean I think.

All blacks
I thought there was a penalty for not facing / walking towards / laughing / anything but standing and watching.
It's part of the game. |

Re: All blacks
A good article about it here.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/johnbeatt...0/06/haka.html It's more part of the PR machine than anything else. If they had to do it in English, and let's face it, the team are not 100% Maori, then the words are quite funny. Slapping yours thighs while shouting that you are the hairy man who brought back the sun again, well having met 4 of the team yesterday 3 of them looked like they waxed their chests! :D Maybe England could start their own little dance. YMCA meets Saturday night fever. |
Re: All blacks
I'd hate to have to do the Haka in the middle of winter. That thigh slapping hurts like f*ck.

Re: All blacks
They are not small men are they? James our cricket coach in his whites in this photo is a well built lad of about 6ft. And they have managed to make him look quite small.
They did all offer to carry my heavy camera and kit bags for me around the ground. http://forums.sv650.org/picture.php?...pictureid=7372 I do like the Morris dancing idea Spank. If the Kiwis had to face the England rugby team dressed like this slapping each other with pigs' bladders they'd be so intimidated they would probably cry. http://forums.sv650.org/picture.php?...pictureid=7373 |
