Which front springs?
The bike is getting there, but it's time to order the front springs. I have th debrix emulators on order thanks to the black grouse but want to order the springs.
I weigh in at 12 st in my birthday suits but that does go up and down by 1/2 stone depending on my mood. I'm looking at doing mainly track days with a few rides out with the lads and week tour of the alps. Looking at racetech site it seems to recommend .85 springs and I was thinking of 10 wt oil. Hopefully this will marry up with zx10 r 07 shock. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
Re: Front springs
I'm roughly the same weight and I'm running 0.7 K-Tec springs with an 07 ZX10 rear with 10wt oil and racetec emulators, good damping on road, could go harder on track. I'll have a look at my air/oil gap later if you want?

Re: Front springs
If you can that would great?

Re: Front springs
Ignore everything I said earlier, there's a good reason that I wrote down what I did at the time! Looking back at my notes I have 0.85N KTech springs, the race tech emus are 4.5 turns on from minimum and I have 15wt RSF oil with 130mm air/oil gap WITHOUT emus in (measured gap first then added emus). For bonus points the ZX shock has 20mm of preload (dialled in from no preload) which should put you in the right territory to fine tune. Nice to have a topic where I actually know what I'm talking about!

Re: Front springs
Cheers mate I think I have the same preload as you on the shock, spring length is about 175mm. Haven't measured the sag yet as trying to get the whole bike bolted together then check the all measurement. Did you adjust the rods and make a sleeve for the emu's.

Re: Front springs
Rods were modified and a sleeve was made but unfortunately that was not my handiwork.
