Winter cleaning?
Real newb question here but gotta find out.
I like to ride every time I get a chance (or its not raining) and have just got back from a nice hours blast around some nice twistys also including a bit of motorway (dont ask I just like em!!) So how do I now clean my bike? Is it just soap and water then spray with protector, or do I need to get some muck off type stuff? Then do I protect with Gt85 or similar? Thanks in advance |
Re: Winter cleaning
Clean it properly once, make sure its dry and apply acf50.Then never clean it again

Re: Winter cleaning
+1
once at winter time each year, but a spray from the hose now and then wont hurt :) Just remember if you do choose to give it a good clean with the soapy stuff re-apply it again |
Re: Winter cleaning

Re: Winter cleaning
It's definately the best stuff out there for keeping you're bike in good nick through riding in all the nasty salty roads...there used to be some services available to get it sprayed with an atomiser on your bike after a thorough deep clean, apparently a very very thin coat of it is best as it stops corrosion but doesn't attract road debris etc
Personally, I find spraying some into the lid and applying with a small brush is best for all the nuts and bolts etc, they're what need it most after all...and may give them a going over a few time over winter depending on how much cr4p I put the bike through |
Re: Winter cleaning
Mine lives under a film of acf all year round. Buy the 32oz bottle and pump its far more sparing
