Pass light switch stopped working.
 

I've been prepping my bike for its MOT and checking the lights I've noticed that the pass light does nothing..

Engine on, front lights on (not high beam) press pass switch and nothing happens...

Turn on the high beam using the rocker switch all working fine.

Now this is not a problem for me, but... MOT time tomorrow, from what I have read they only check that the lights work and high beam works , will this switch not working fail the MOT???

I had exactly this problem a few months ago (amongst other problems)
Most people suggested dirty contacts... i took my switchgear off and dismantled it, cleaned it all, reassembled and it worked. simply squirting contact cleaner in wasnt enough!

Not MOT item AFAIK and you'd have a cnut of a tester to fail it for that if it was!

Well, fingers crossed it will pass.

To fail on a stupid pass switch or too loud exhaust will be just be lame!

Considering it was only serviced by them a few months ago.... When I think it was also not working.

Anyway should be fine.

keep working the switch to try and clear the contacts, this is what i do every so often when min stops working.

Squirted a load of wd45 while working the switch but nothing :(

Don't have time to take it apart, and to be honest I never use it.

Fingers crossed all goes well today. I will let you know how get on.

Some bikes dont even have them, so i think youll be fin :). You can always flick the high beam rocker if you want to flash anyway....

Exactly it's not like the low/high beams don't work!!

I find that pass switch to be completely crap on my sv anyway, so I never use it and if I do need to flash someone (ooooh errrr ;) ) I just use the main beam switch quickly.

Mine stopped working a while ago. I even tried a spare L/H switch gear which didn't work so it must be the wiring somewhere. The original switch gear is still on and the switch broke so I have removed it an taped over the hole with black insulating tape. No problems with MOT & TBH I Dont miss it.
