Cheap upgrades, mods, changes to SVs or universal?

Just thought I'd start a thread that I have seen on other car forums I'm a member of and think it's a great thread for ideas.

Little changes that make a big (or little) impact in your bike for little outlay

So rules are no more than £75, the cheaper the better, the easier the better

You get the gyst.

Not sure how many "cheap and cheerful" mods there are for bikes been fairly new but throw your ideas up.

Thanks

This is where I got mine from, 10x better than the original for wind protection.. and looks IMO! - http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/5...rcycles/Tech-7 and it's £39.99

Removal of steering damper from SV1000. Massive improvement, zero cost (assuming you already have a spanner.)
Checking your tyre pressures. Potentially massive improvement, zero cost (assuming you already have a pump and pressure gauge.)

Out of interest why does this make such a difference? ^

My damper was notchier than Wideboy's bedpost. Meant inconsistent steering effort and no feel. As soon as I took it off it made a massive difference and I could once again feel the front wheel going light and get some feedback in corners. Not had any tank slapper incidents to make me contemplate putting it back on but then I'm not a ham-fisted muppet.

Don't have a option for a sv1000 :( might sound daft but it the 650 fully faired the same as the 1000 fully faired? I wouldn't thought they would change the front bit at all? Just the lower?
