Pricing a bike for parts
Hello all I have a curvy SVS that I am thinking of breaking
My question is how to work out the price for each part. Looking to make enough money back to purchase another bike. I would probably break the bike like so: Front fairings complete Mirrors Tank (slight paint scuffs) Clocks Euro headlight (flat beam just passed MOT) Left clip on with switchgear Right clip on with switchgear Front forks with yokes and spindle Throttle bodies and air box Engine (no knocks and just serviced with invoice to prove) LSL sliders Wheels with tyres, discs and sprocket carrier Front calipers with brake resivoir Rear caliper with support and bracket and resivoir Rear plastics complete Both seats as a set Rear subframe Swingarm with spindle Tail tidy Loom complete Bos titanium exhaust with down pipes Rear light 4 indicators Would you people in the know help me price these More details in the breaking add if I like the look of the numbers Many thanks |

Look on e bay and see what similar items are going for and price accordingly?

Cheers! I am in the process of doing that now but find a lot of stuff for £30 plus £100 postage lol

Re: Pricing a bike for parts
Tick the check box that says 'Complete items only' when you search. It'll give you a better idea of what stuff has sold for. There'll still be a load that are listed as completed, when in actual fact the listing expired without any bids, but a quick scan down the lists will indicate which have had successful bids on.

Re: Pricing a bike for parts
Bump any ideas folks?
Just don't want to break it and have parts sat because of prices lol ebay ranges from 30%-60% price differences for the same part |
Re: Pricing a bike for parts
At the end of the day things are worth what people are willing to pay for them, some people could advertise parts for say £50 when the majority of people won't want to pay more than £20.
To actually guarantee the sales you'll probably have to advertise parts for less than you've seen them sell/be advertised for. Or advertise them for around the same price and say "ONO" Good luck with the sales ;) |
