Tyre Sizes for ZX9R

Need some new tyres for my ZX9. Stock sizes are 120/70 and 190/50 but I've found a pair of tyres which are 120/70 and 190/55. Does anyone know if they would still fit? I do have a rear hugger with ~10mm clearance.

Thanks

Re: Tyre Sizes for ZX9R

Hi

The 50/55 is the sidewall ratio as a percentage of the width of the tyre.

190/50 has a sidewall of 95mm

190/55 has a sidewall of 104.5mm

So it looks like it would be very very close to the hugger!

It would also affect the turn in.

Quite a few ZX9R riders fit 180 tyres rather than the standard 190s to enhance turn in.

Re: Tyre Sizes for ZX9R

Thanks.

I only wanted to check as some guy was selling some new PR3's for £160 but the rear was a 190/55. Never mind, I'll just go for the standard 190/50 instead.

I am a member on ZX9R but I prefer this forum and I know some of the people on here as well, sort of.

Thanks again.
