Anyone got one? Ridden one? Thoughts?

Re: BMW GS650 Sertao
Quite a few people have them on the abr site, seen a few off road on abr rallies too.
They are big thumpers, so gonna be vibey, not particularly powerful either, around 48hp ish. |
Re: BMW GS650 Sertao
I'm thinking of it because if I enjoy Spain I'd like to get into a bit of off-roading, but I can't justify having two bikes - It seems almost like the SV of the enduro class in that it'll be good for commuting, good off-road and ok on rideouts if I want to go - You know I'm not one of these who blasts off ahead too much.
Also good for touring which seems to be what I end up doing most. |
Re: BMW GS650 Sertao
Had an older version for two weeks in Tenerife last year. It was fine on and off road. Plenty of poke. I would never buy one with my own money cos...
I would be after one of these instead though. 22 or 23 litre tank. "No substitute for cubes" :p That gives you some serious range. And won't fall to bits as quick as the BM and be a heck of a lot cheaper to run. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g8...Gallery203.jpg http://www.xt660.com/index.php |
Re: BMW GS650 Sertao
Yep, xt660 is a much better bike IMO, the tenere might be too big for you Tom but the xtr would be ok.

Re: BMW GS650 Sertao
Go buy a Yamaha single (or powered by) as they're a lot better.
