1999 SV650S Not Running Right

Hi Guys,

I need some input to my problem.

I recently changed all the hoses on my bike and the all the cables, since then the bike has been running really fast, plenty of slack on the throttle cable and the idle screw is all the way out. I connect my syncing tool for the carbs and it was showing them out loads, i have got them sync'd but still running really fast.

What can cause the bike to run so fast??

Cheers,

Air leak?Carbs/airbox not seated properly, hose(s) not seated properly, choke plungers playing up.Crankcase breather(s)come off.It will be something you have altered or disturbed while doing the work on the hoses and cables.

AS BB says, what about the choke plungers as you've messed around with the cables

If it ran right before you changed parts, check what you disturbed - odds are it's something not refitted/adjusted correctly.
Chances are one or other of the chokes is where the problem lies, that's the obvious place to look first, as if one or both don't return completely the trouble you're having is the likely result. Might just be the choke cable is adjusted too tight so the choke isn't off even though you return the lever.

What do the plugs look like?
An open enrichment valve (choke) will make the mixture rich. An intake air leak will make the mixture lean.
