From what i remember the sv1000 cans are 4 bolt versions so should just bolt onto the existing pipes.

I think the pipes are stainless steel but there is thread on cleaning them, here were mine before I got to scrubbing them

Thanks for the thread, my pipes have rusted away at the joint of the header pipe (where 5-6 is labelled), not sure how they are holding on actually :s

pretty sure 6 is a exhaust gasket which sits inside the pipe and 5 is an exhaust clamp. I have a sneaky suspicion my clamp went rusty an the bolt snapped. I recall replacing it with a generic one ...unfortunately its been a while.

I guess its this clamp

yeah thats the correct section but its where the 2 pipes actually meet thats all rusted away, no sign of the clamp anymore but i have 2 new ones.

So i think i need the header pipe and the one it join on to

i cant see your picture but there are 2 parts with the clamp holding it together. You can see how far the down pipe goes into the rear section with the gasket fitting around the clamped bit inside

I have to say the bolts that hold the pipe to the engine on my bike were seized on. I gave up trying to remove the rear pipe.
