New wiring loom - no indicators or rear light?
As per title.
Fitted a new wiring loom yesterday as mine was butchered by previous owner. Everything went it perfectly, all connections connected etc. But the only thing I've lost is my rear driving light and indicators. The indicators show no life whatsoever, not on the dash or anything, when both hazard switch and indicators are on both sides. I believe the horn has no power to it either, I haven't had a horn for donkeys but I tested it for any power to the connection when pressing the horn and got nothing. The brake light works fine. Any ideas? I'm hoping it's a simple fix as I need it fixing asap because I ride to and from work in the dark lol Cheers guys |
Re: New wiring loom - no indicators or rear light?
Assuming no broken connections etc, do you have the relay from the original loom?
If so, swap it and see if it changes. Beyond that, i'd be looking at broken connections. A wiring diagram here would be your best friend. |
Re: New wiring loom - no indicators or rear light?
Hi thanks for reply.
Tried it with the old relay with no luck, is this how they'd all act if there was no relay put in? I'm 99% certain that there's no broken connections as me and the friend that fitted it were very particular and thorough when fitting it and we saw no causes for concern... I'm hoping Bibio will pop up and fire a simple fix at me haha |

did you buy the same year loom as the bike. the K3 loom is different concerning the switchgear connection.

The stuff up front was different Yeh, we connected all the wires up though thinking my original was butchered so bad that that's what we had to do.. any way around it? |
Re: New wiring loom - no indicators or rear light?
if your bike is after a k3 then a loom belonging to a k3 WILL NOT FIT as there are a lot of differences regarding the switchgear and the biggest being the 'cut headlights to start'. which is possibly why your tail light is not working.
can you make a k3 loom fit a k4-k7.. not without a lot of work or buying k3 switchgear. |

Mines a k6 :/ what's my options?

Re: New wiring loom - no indicators or rear light?
a k4> loom or k3 switchgear. to go mucking about with unpicking connection blocks and re routing cables is not worth the effort. the cut till start headlight function is built into the later looms so to get it working with a k3 loom means ripping apart the k3 loom.
i might have a look later if i have time for a better solution but dont hold your breath. |
