Replacement brake hoses?
Hi all, I'm considering changing the brake lines on my 650 k4, looking at kits from HEL and others they list ....
HEL Brake Lines For Suzuki SV650 N K3-K8 (2003-2008) Layout:Standard OEM Front Lines:3 HEL Brake Lines For Suzuki SV650 N K3-K8 (2003-2008) Layout:Full Length Race Front Lines:2 HEL Brake Lines For Suzuki SV650 N K3-K8 (2003-2008) Layout:Over The Mudguard Front Lines:2 My line does go over the mudguard to reach the left caliper - should I stick to this layout or can I opt for either of the others and if so which is best option and why. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Replacement brake hoses
Best how? The setup least likely to cause fouling anywhere and follow the original paths beat would be the 3 line.
The down and over mudguard 2 line uses the least amount of line. The 2 long lines are the only layout allowed if you want to pass ACU scrutineering for a race bike as the lines need to split above the bottom yoke. All will work just fine Jambo Sent without a real keyboard |
Re: Replacement brake hoses
Thanks for the information.
I'm guessing that the over the mudguard is done by manufacturer as a lower cost option. So probably one of the other options 89.00 for the three line or 59.00 for the two long lines, If there is no disadvantage to the two long lines and presumably a safety advantage based on the acu/race bike factor then it seems two long lines are the best option. |

The 2 line ones are great. Got a set of goodridge ones on my pointy.
The lines basically come off the MC and then pretty much follow the forks down each side. Plus by the sounds of it, it saves you some cash |
Re: Replacement brake hoses
I've not ever noticed a difference in feel between any of the setups. And I've used all 3. Pick the one you like the look of :)
