curvy owners?

thanks to SH and Mav i now have a curvy swingarm, spindle, marker plates and nut.

i've had a good look at how things tighten up on the plates but i'm a bit concerned about the axle nut.

on the pointy the rear axle nut has a recess so the axle can be drawn into the nut if need be.

the curvy from what i can tell the rear axle nut is flush on the bottom so can only go down the threads on the axle so far which is the start of the taper on the axle.

could some curvy owners please check to see if the rear axle nut is indeed like the one i have and flush on the bottom.

thanks

Lance xx

Can you put a picture up of what you have Lance? As soon as it's up I'll nip straight out to the garage and compare it.

Ok just a minute then and I'll go and spin the rear spindle nut of and have a look.

thanks m8.

looks like the one i have is well used :-)

just a standard self locking nut. there is a bit of a recess but nothing to worry about.

a lot less complicated than the pointy marker plates to do and i think i'l be able to get the curvy markers tight as fek with virtually no slop :-)

just wish suzuki hadn't welded the bloody bobbin bracket where it is :-(

The nut in my pics is a 60,000+ miler! Those bobbin brackets are right where they don't need to be!

There should be a washer behind that nut and before the plate as standard. Some bikes I've seen don't have the washer and I couldn't find a spare for you not sure if that's going to be an issue for you? Forgot to say before I sent it, sorry.

Re: curvy owners?

ahhh. i see said the blind man. i was wondering due to the rub marks on the spindle where it rests on the swingarm. should be ok as i'm increasing the spacing by 3mm due to using 4mm SS and the standard plates are 2.5mm mild. as with the pointy i'll still have to chamfer the outer/inner of the plates due to my working tolerances being a bit better.

Sorry, I should also have said that there is a thick washer between the nut and the plate.
