100w bulbs ?
Wouldn't risk it.

Re: 100w bulbs ?
I wouldnt do it either.
If you want more output, run osram nightbreaker bulbs with an Eastern beaver relay kit. Made the output on my SV loads better! |
Re: 100w bulbs ?
Not all H4s are created equal. as above, a quality set of bulbs from Philips or Osram help, as does keeping the lenses clean.

Heres a link if you're interested mate.
http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Wi...s/h4_kits.html Obviously the 'dual H4 relay kit' is the one for the faired SV, and single for the naked. |
Re: 100w bulbs ?
I've been running nightbreakers for a couple of years without a relay kit, they work fine.

But if you want the best out of them a relay kit is the only way. The SV wiring isnt that good IMO. I have got some pictures somewhere of the difference. I'll see if i can find em |
Re: 100w bulbs ?
Not the best pictures sorry people, just a couple whilst i was doing the job.
Before: http://i907.photobucket.com/albums/a...or38/image.jpg After: http://i907.photobucket.com/albums/a...38/image-1.jpg As Jambo says, you dont need one and upgraded bulbs on their own is an improvement. But the relay kit gives the bulbs the power they need to run at their optimum output. The standard SV wiring isnt good enough to get the best out of them. Edit: just so you know. I did spend a week tidying the garage since then n its not that bad anymore! Haha. |
Re: 100w bulbs ?
that eastern beaver kit is just fancy relays that you can do just the same with normal or mini relays. yes it is a nice piece of kit but its still relays FFS.
